The new Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade I hosted the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
Oba Owoade hosted the cleric at his palace in Oyo town on Tuesday, June 10.
In a Facebook post made by Ajísebí Ọ̀yọ́ Radio, Adebote visited the monarch alongside some members of the church.
The RCCG founder also prayed for the monarch.
“Alaafin of Yoruba Land, Iku Baba Yeye gba Àlejò Daddy G.O. Baba Enoch A. Adeboye ti Ìjọ Redeemed Christian Church of God ni Ilu Oyo Alaafin l’oni” (The Alaafin of Yorubaland, Iku Baba Yeye, received Daddy G.O., Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, today in the city of Oyi),” the broadcast station wrote in Yoruba.
The traditional leader was crowned the 47th Alaafin of Oyo on April 5, 2025, after the approval of his election Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
The new traditional leader succeeded Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the 45th Alaafin of Oyo.
Adeyemi died on April 22, 2022, at the age of 83.
