JUST IN: Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer, Ozekhome Writes DSS, Makes Demands

The lead counsel of Nnamdi Kanu, Mike Ozekhome, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has urged the Department of State Services (DSS) to grant Kanu access to his new medical team.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Ozekhome’s appeal comes as Kanu’s previous doctor is currently out of the country.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), in a letter to the secret police, emphasised that the IPOB leader has a scheduled surgical operation on his left ear. However, the exact date is yet to be determined.

According to the letter, the new medical team, consisting of Uche Ukwuije and David Ukoha, has confirmed their availability for an initial meeting with Kanu. Ozekhome stressed the importance of this meeting as it would be the first encounter between the doctors and Kanu.

“We respectfully request that the aforementioned medical doctors be granted access to our client for an official engagement meeting,” the letter stated.

This development comes following recent remarks by Kanu’s younger brother, Kanunta, who stated that the services of both Ozekhome and Ifeanyi Ejiofor are no longer required.

Kanunta alleged that Ozekhome had hindered the family’s appointed doctors from conducting a medical examination on Kanu.
