JUST IN: Obasa may be reinstated as security operatives takeover Lagos Assembly premises

There are rumours that the leadership within the Lagos State House of Assembly may yet change again.

The ousted Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa is set to be heading back to his former office with the support of highly-placed politicians.

Seun Okinbaloye, Channels TV Political Editor, stirred the hornet’s nest earlier in the day when he tweeted: “Resignation looms in Lagos! It’s a matter of hours.”

Already, operatives from the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force have taken control of the Assembly premises in Alausa, Ikeja.

The security personnel, who arrived around 10:00 am on Monday, sealed the offices of Speaker Mojisola Meranda, her deputy, and the clerk of the House.

Obasa had filed a lawsuit at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja, challenging the legality of his removal and seeking immediate reinstatement.

According to him, his impeachment occurred during a recess without proper authorization, rendering the proceedings unconstitutional.
