JUST IN: Obaseki discloses real reason for leaving APC after meeting Buhari

Governor of Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki has disclosed his major reason for resigning from the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Obaseki, who addressed journalists in Abuja after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, disclosed that he was leaving the party because of his disqualification and rift with the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomole, who also happens to be his predecessor in office.

Obaseki was disqualified from contesting the party’s gubernatorial primaries last week over discrepancies in his HSC and NYSC certificates. He told newsmen;

“I’m sure the whole country knows and is aware of what has gone on with me and the party chairman, the party leadership which culminated in my disqualification as a gubernatorial aspirant.”

“Upon that unfortunate decision by the chairman of the All Progressives Congress, I have decided to go and seek my Gubernatorial aspiration on another platform”.

Obaseki is expected to join the largest opposition party in Edo state, PDP.
