Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State, on Saturday fumed at the attack on the house of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof. George Obiozor, at Awo-Omanma in Oru East Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the attackers who arrived at the Igbo leader’s home in vehicles in the early hours of today, threw explosive devices at the house, thereby razing it.
It was learnt that Obiozor was not at home when his house was attacked.
Uzodinma, in a statement this afternoon, obtained by this newspaper, described the attack as cowardly and a height of desperation. He also blamed it on politicians.
“The time of those who unleash this kind of mayhem in the state is over. We shall hunt them down to face the full weight of the law,” the Governor’s statement reads in part.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Police in Imo state, Micheal Abattam, said that they had launched a manhunt for the perpetrators of the crime.
He said that the Commissioner of Police in the State, Rabiu Hussaini, had ordered an immediate investigation into the incident and with a mandate that the suspect be apprehended, immediately.
Enough of this nonsense in imo state. Always in the news for the wrong reason bringing shame to the entire igbo race. Must you turn your state to somalia. Destrotion is not an attribute of igbo race.
