JUST IN: APC Suspends 31 of Its Members In Ondo, Gives Reason

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State has suspended 31 members of the party.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the party’s decision was conveyed to the state chairman, Mr Ade Adetimehin, in a letter made available to our correspondent on Saturday.

The party stated that the suspension of the members was based on the report of a committee set up to investigate the matter.

Although the letter did not expressly state the offence committed by the affected members, it is understood that their suspension is linked to the anti-party roles they allegedly played in the last general elections.

A part of the letter read, “Having gone through the list and consider the report of the fact-finding committee, the leaders across the 15 wards unanimously resolved that the following members of the party stand suspended from the party.”

The letter was signed by the party’s chairman, Chief Sehinde Mishe, and a leader, Mr Victor Olabimtan.

The suspended members were named as Yaya Adelakun, Alh Abubakar Alonge, Mr Femi Ayoko, Segun Olukoju, Olugbegba Omole, Sunday Ajulu, Oteruku Sunday, Felix Ajakaye, Adejoro Paul, Mr Ayelure, and Opeyemi Igbede. Others include Alege Monday, Okajare Idowu, Tenabe Busuyi, Adedeji Dupe, Oyinbosokun Oluwole, Olasukanmi Sunday, Mrs Kayode Mary, Idowu Olanusi, Elder Rogbitan L.I, Bodunde Johnson, Akinsule Stella, Alimi Taiwo, Bankole Adefarati, Barr Babaleye Tolu, Ayegbusi Jide, Abimbola Gbenga, Yakubu Usman, Adejoro Adeogun, Alh Musa Olisa, and Alabi Alaba.

In response, Adetimehin promised that the state secretariat would address the issue as it is a “family affair.” He assured that the matter would be thoroughly examined and resolved.
