[JUST IN] Osun APC primary election: Party Chairman reacts to results

The factional Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, Alhaji Rasaq Salinsile, has rejected the outcome of the party primary election held on Saturday, and vowed that the result would be challenged appropriately.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that in the unofficial results so far across the state, Governor Gboyega Oyetola is in the clear lead over Moshood Adeoti.

Salinsile insisted that the primary election of the party was manipulated in favour of Oyetola and maintained that the result was not acceptable.

Members of the party loyal to the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, alleged irregularities as the incumbent Governor, Oyetola, led in the early results.

Adeoti, a former state chairman of the party, is the anointed candidate of Aregbesola.

While Oyetola’s men expressed satisfaction with the ongoing process, supporters of Adeoti grumbled over alleged missing names from the party’s register.

In the election, there was a large turnout of party members, who came out to vote.
