JUST IN: Oyo State Commissioner, Kehinde Ayoola dies in Ibadan

The Oyo State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources and former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Kehinde Ayoola, is dead.

It was learned that Ayoola, who battled a protracted illness for about two weeks, died on Thursday at a private hospital in Iyaganku, Ibadan, the state capital.

As at the time of filing this report, the Oyo-born politician’s cause of death could not be ascertained.

However, Taiwo Adisa, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, has confirmed his death while speaking to reporters on Thursday in Ibadan.

Ayoola was born on January 14 in Oyo town, Oyo State, Nigeria. He attended Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He studied Animal Science and Environmental Management and Control.

He represented Oyo East state constituency between 1999 and 2003  and became speaker during the administration of the former governor of the state, Late Lam Adesina.

The late commissioner is survived by wife, Olukemi, and two sons.
