Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State have arrived at the venue for the party’s governorship primary election in Osogbo.
The delegates gathered at Adolak Hall under tight security measures to prevent any outbreak of violence.
This comes after the State PDP Chairman, Mr Sunday Bisi, announced on Monday that the primary would no longer hold, citing a crisis within the party’s national leadership.
His statement, however, was contradicted by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Shan, who insisted that the primary would go ahead as scheduled.
By 11:04 am on Tuesday, the hall was filled with delegates, with the party’s electoral committee, led by Humphery Abba, also in attendance.
Other members of the committee include Bar. Marc Jacob, Chief Sanya Atofarati, Mrs Scholastical Kenebi, Chief Anene Azubuike, Mrs Splendour Josephine, and Dr Sunday Solarin, who serves as secretary.
Officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were also present to oversee and monitor the exercise.
