Hon. Olaiya Michael Olobatoke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Kabba-Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency in the last general elections, has died.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Olobatoke, who was popularly known as OMO, died on Wednesday in Abuja.
The family confirmed his death in a statement on Facebook.
“With pain in our hearts but gratitude to God Almighty, we announce the passing away of our brother, leader, mentor, and friend, Chief Olaiya Micheal Olobatoke (OMO). Who’s sudden demise happened on Wednesday in Abuja,” the statement read.
Olobatoke was a successful businessman and a community leader. He was also a philanthropist who was known for his generosity.
