JUST IN: PDP insists on November 15 convention in Ibadan, dares Wike group

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that its national convention, scheduled for November 15 in Ibadan, Oyo State, is “sacrosanct.”

The party said those opposed to the event should “buy a form, go to Ibadan and test their popularity and strength.”

The declaration was made on Tuesday in Abuja during the inauguration of the party’s 119-member National Convention Organising Committee.

The development comes amid fresh demands from Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister Nyesom Wike and some stakeholders, who are pushing for the national chairmanship to be zoned to the North-Central.

Wike and his group have been making demands from the party , which has been largely ignored.
