All the 260 councillorship seats across 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State have been won by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
At the election held on Saturday, September 21, the chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), Christian Ngwu, made the declaration.
According to Ngwu, the announcement of the results was delayed until Monday, September 23, for proper scrutiny.
He also mentioned that the the results were carefully analysed to ensure that there are no mistakes.
His words, “PDP won all 260 ward councillorship positions within the 260 political wards in the state.
“The election was duly conducted and it was most peaceful, fair, free and credible.
Noting that there was no record of violence, the chairman also said that the ENSIEC has ensured a fair playing ground for all parties and candidates during the polls.
Ngwu added that Certificate of Return would be issued to all winners by the commission soonest.
