JUST IN: Peter Obi condemns attack on soldiers in Abia state, calls for justice

The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi has expressed his deep sorrow and condemnation of the violence that claimed the life of five soldiers in Abia state yesterday.

Obi, in a statement released today, conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Dr. Alex Otti, Governor of Abia State, and the people of the state, while also extending his sympathies to the families of the fallen soldiers.

He called for swift and decisive action to investigate the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.

He urged for collective efforts towards creating a safer and more prosperous future for all Nigerians, where the lives of both citizens and security forces are valued and protected.

”I condemn this atrocity in strong terms and demand an immediate and thorough investigation into this crime in order to identify and punish the culprits. We must not stand idly by while our nation is torn apart by violence and fear.

”We will continue to push for a better future, where our citizens and security forces are protected and valued,” he added.
