
The Police in Kano State have banned all Durbar activities planned for the 2025 Eid-El-Fitr Sallah festivities in the state.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Adamu Bakori said the decision to ban the Durbar activities in the state follows the heightened security concerns in Kano.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Bakori said it is important for the Nigeria Police Force to protect and secure the state during the festive period.
He also assured that the police have put all necessary measures in place to ensure the safety of property and lives of Kano residents.
“Following credible intelligence reports of orchestrated plans by miscreants and their sponsors to exploit the Durbar for disruptive activities, the Command, in consultation with the Kano State Government and other key stakeholders, has decided to prohibit all Durbar activities across the state,” Bakori said.
He, however assured residents that there would be adequate security presence to safeguard those participating at the Eid prayers in designated grounds across Kano
