Granville Adams, best known for his performance as Zahir Arif on HBO’s “Oz,” has died following a long battle with cancer.
His death was confirmed by his colleague Kirk Acevedo.
Adams died on Sunday aged 58.
Acevedo took to his verified Twitter handle on Sunday night to write: “I lost my brotha today after a long battle with cancer. I don’t do well with loss because I’m unfamiliar with it.”
He added: “Yo Granny we’ll be chopping it up on the other side one day. Until then… Rest easy my friend.”
Fans and famous persons took to Twitter to share their condolences following the news.
Granville is survived by wife Christina.
