A Presidential aide has stated that the government may extend the lockdown in place due to the rising cases of the novel COVID-19 virus.
In a tweet on Sunday, Presidential aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie insinuated that the lockdown may be extended if Nigerians refuse to abide by the current stay at home order.
She made the comment while responding to a question from a twitter user who asked her if the current lockdown might be extended.
“Unless we stay home NOW, the #Lockdown, I would imagine, would be expanded and continue to be extended. The earlier we stay off the streets, the better for all of us.
“That’s how we can put the #AlmightyCoronaVirus at bay!” she tweeted.
