JUST IN: President Buhari directs importation of Madagascar’s herbal remedy

Chairman of the Presidential TaskForce on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the committee to pick up Madagascar’s herbal remedy for coronavirus.

Mustapha made this known at the daily briefing of the task force in Abuja on Monday.

According to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Madagascar President gave Nigeria some of the products to cure the dreaded virus, adding that they were sent through Guinea-Bissau.

Mustapha noted that after the President gave the order to pick them up, arrangements have been made to pick the drugs up.

He, however, noted that President Buhari instructed that the herbs be subjected to checks by relevant authorities in Nigeria.

“The president of Madagascar sent it to Guinea Bissau. Certain allocations have been made to different countries. We have an indication of the quantities that have been allocated to Nigeria, and we are supposed to make arrangements to freight it out of Bissau to Nigeria,” he said.

“I have received instructions from Mr President to make arrangements to freight it home.”
