President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the death of former Anambra State Governor, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, CON, describing his passing as a “painful loss” to the nation.
Chief Ezeife, also known as Okwadike of Igbo-Ukwu, served as the first elected governor of Anambra State from 1992 to 1993.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu extended his condolences to the Ezeife family, the people, and the government of Anambra State.
The President highlighted Chief Ezeife’s contributions to “shaping public discourse and governance in Nigeria” and his “role in laying the foundation for the advancement of Anambra State.” He acknowledged the late governor’s dedication to public service and his commitment to the development of his home state.
“While praying for the repose of the soul of the dearly departed, the President encourages his loved ones to take solace in his indelible legacy,” the statement added.
