Lawyer Khrushchev Ekwueme is dead, POLITICS NIGERIA has learned.
Confirming Ekwueme’s demise was Chidi Odinkalu, the former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), who wrote on his known Twitter handle on Wednesday: “Dr. Khruschev Ekwueme – brother, colleague, friend….Now immortal. #RIP.”

This newspaper cannot immediately ascertain the cause of Ekwueme’s death as details surrounding his death were still sketchy.
Khrushchev, until his death, was a Partner in the Dispute Resolution Practice of the Olaniwun Ajayi law firm.
A former student of The Hague Academy of International Law, Netherlands, and Visiting Researcher at the Harvard Law School, Massachusetts, USA, Khrushchev specialised in international economic law, dispute resolution, global commercial arbitration, public interest litigation and white-collar crime prosecution.
He had acted for governments, as well as banks and oil and gas companies. He was active on a range of arbitration and litigation mandates.
