JUST IN: Sanusi takes IG, DSS to court over Continued Detention

The dethroned Emir of Kano State, Muhammad Sanusi II has dragged the Inspector General of Police and the Director-General of the Department of State Security Services, DSS to court over his continued detention in Awe, Nassarawa State.

It will be recalled that the former Emir made headlines after being dethroned by the Kano state government over allegations of corruption and desecration of the Emirate’s traditional values. POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that the suit with number FHC/ABJ/CS/357/2020 was filed by Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), Sanusi’s legal counsel.

Sanusi was dethroned on Monday and immediately put on house arrest by a combined team of Police officers and DSS personnel before being whisked away to Loko then Awe area of Nassarawa State.

He has been confined to a small apartment in Awe amidst heavy security presence.

The Emir has since been replaced by Aminu Ado Bayero, the son of Sanusi’s Predecessor.
