Lagos State Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu has reappointed his former Chief of Staff, Mr Tayo Ayinde, and Deputy Chief of Staff, Gboyega Soyannwo, to their former positions.
The Governor who made the announcement on Thursday via a television broadcast, also appointed Barr. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, as Secretary to the State Government.
Politics Nigeria reports that there are speculations that the Governor will return about 70 per cent of the last executive into the second term cabinet.
Prominent among those to return are: Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, and Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai.
Others are Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engr Aramide Adeyoye, and Special Adviser on Education, Tokunbo Wahab.
Meanwhile, the Labour Party governorship in Lagos in the 2023 general elections, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has filed a case at the tribunal challenging the victory of Governor Sanwo-Olu.
The 40-year-old U.S.-trained architect is asking the tribunal to nullify the governor’s victory and declare him the validly elected chief executive of the commercial state.
