
The Nigerian Senate has announced its plan to hold a special session for the late former president Muhammadu Buhari.
The leadership of the Senate said the special session for Buhari who died in London at the age of 82 will take place on Wednesday.
According to the Senate, it would use the special session to reflect on the life and legacy of the late former president as well as his contributions to the growth of Nigeria.
Recall that the Federal Executive Council led by President Bola Tinubu had also held a similar session for the late Buhari.
The session which took place last Thursday had the late former president’s family including all his children in attendance.
During the session, President Tinubu used the opportunity to rename the University of Maiduguri, Borno State to Muhammadu Buhari University.
