The Senate on Thursday confirmed the appointment of Capt. Chris Ona Najomo as the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Najomo’s confirmation followed the adoption of the report from the Senate Committee on Aviation during plenary.
Presenting the report, the committee’s chairman, Sen. Buhari Abdulfatai (APC-Oyo), stated that the nominee was thoroughly screened and found suitable for the position due to his vast experience and significant contributions to the aviation industry.
Sen. Mohammed Monguno (APC-Borno), while supporting the confirmation, noted that although he was not a member of the aviation committee, Najomo’s résumé was impressive and there was no adverse security report against him.
Following deliberations, the Senate unanimously confirmed Najomo’s appointment as the new NCAA Director General.
