The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the nominations of Amidu Raheem and Fasuwa Abayomi as Commissioners for the National Population Commission (NPC).
The approval follows the consideration of the report submitted by the Senate Committee on National Identity and Population Commission.
President Bola Tinubu, in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio last month, requested the Senate’s confirmation of Raheem and Abayomi, citing section 154(1) of the country’s Constitution.
Raheem, a university don from Osun State, has a background in public administration and has previously served as a lawmaker and commissioner.
The appointment of Fasuwa Abayomi Johnson, also known as FAJ, was recognized.
He is a former House of Assembly on Works Chairman and is well-known in Ogun’s political circles.
