Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja for Abidjan ahead of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.
Shettima departed Abuja with some presidential aides on Sunday afternoon.
Today’s AFCON final match is between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire.
Politics Nigeria reports that Shettima was also at the semi-final match between the Eagles and the South African team.
Earlier, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, had cancelled his planned trip to Abidjan for today’s match over the death of Access Bank GCEO, Herbert Wigwe.
Wigwe died in a helicopter crash in California, USA. Onboard the ill fared chopper were his wife, son and other business associates.
