Activist Omoyele Sowore on Thursday met with Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), at the Abuja Federal High Court on Thursday.
In the video, Kanu is seen greeting and hugging Sowore warmly.
Accompanying the post, Sowore wrote, “Finally, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and I met at the Federal High Court today. The man is powerful and unrelenting. We greeted and hugged and the bond is strong! #FreeNnamdiKanuNow.”
Earlier on Monday, Sowore had led Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, and his brother, Prince Emmanuel, to a #FreeNnamdiKanu protest in Abuja.
The demonstration was dispersed by police, who arrested Ejimakor, Prince Emmanuel, and other participants. They were arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Kuje and remanded in Kuje prison.
Meanwhile, Kanu has indicated his intention to defend himself before the Justice James Omotosho-led court on terrorism-related charges, following the withdrawal of his lead counsel, Kanu Agabi, from the trial.
Kanu has been in detention since 2021, after being rearrested in Kenya and subjected to extraordinary rendition back to Nigeria.
It hurts my mind whenever i remember the cost of food items in the Market,cost of Fuel at Filling Stations & Others.Then,equate it with the income of an average Nigerians on monthly basis.To eat two square meal now is a problem.I advice President Ahmed Bola Tinubu as a father to listen to his sons Nnamdi Kanu & Sowore cries & have solutions to their requests.For Nnamdi Kanu saying he’ll defend himself in the Court is not too bad provided he has his facts.He was charged Terrorism.My question is what’s Terrorism?.For Nnamdi Kanu to include Former AGF Malami,Hon Nyesome Wike,Hon Okezie Ikpeazu & others as his witnesses is best known to him.It signifies they are very brilliants & can help him explain what Terrorism means.Also,help him give instances as learned gentlemen.Peace be unto you all.
