The Super Eagles have returned to training ahead of their crucial match against Gabon after resolving a dispute over unpaid allowances.
This development comes barely 24 hours after players boycotted a scheduled training session in protest.
On Tuesday, the team refused to train in Abuja, demanding payment of outstanding bonuses from their 2025 AFCON qualification and 2026 World Cup playoff appearances.
The issue sparked concern among fans as the team prepares for Thursday’s semi-final clash.
Although details of the agreement were not made public, it was gathered that talks between team officials and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) led to a swift resolution.
Confirming the development, team captain William Troost-Ekong took to X to announce that the misunderstanding had been settled. He wrote, “Issue RESOLVED. We are together and as before focussed on the games ahead!”
The defender also assured fans that the team remains united and fully concentrated on their next challenge.
Nigeria will face Gabon in the semi-final of the 2026 African World Cup playoffs. The winner will meet either DR Congo or Cameroon for a spot in the intercontinental playoff.
The Super Eagles have been in top form, and their training resumption brings relief to supporters who feared the allowance row could disrupt preparations.
