The Supreme Court on Monday reserved judgment in the appeal challenging the election of Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru.
The apex court, presided over by Justice John Okoro, adjourned the case to a yet-to-be-communicated date after all parties involved adopted their briefs of argument.
The appeal stemmed from a judgment by the Court of Appeal in Lagos, which had earlier affirmed Nwifuru’s victory. The verdict had dismissed a petition filed by Chukwuma Odii of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had contested the election results.
However, Odii, unsatisfied with the Court of Appeal’s decision, took his case to the Supreme Court, seeking to overturn Nwifuru’s election.
