JUST IN: Suspected Coronavirus case in Enugu tests negative

The suspected coronavirus patient in Enugu, which was announced on Sunday, has been confirmed negative.

According to TheNation newspaper, the Enugu Ministry of Health tested the patients for the dreaded virus but proved negative.

Also known as Convid 19, coronavirus has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation considering the mortality rate across the globe.

Nigeria recorded its first case after an Italian visited the country few weeks ago.

Confirmed cases have been reported in over 13 countries of the world.

Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health in Enugu, Dr Ifeanyi Agujiobi, in a statement said the tests were carried out at IRUA Specialist Hospital, Edo State, on Monday morning.

He explained the results have been confirmed by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) .

“We hereby enjoin the general public to go about their normal business however to remain alert and vigilant observing basic personal health hygiene,” Agujiobi stated.
