Students from the Federal University in Gusau, Zamfara State, have taken to the streets to protest the recent abduction of five fellow students.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the indignant demonstrators have brought the bustling Zaria-Sokoto highway to a grinding halt, causing widespread disruption for motorists and passengers alike.
Determined to draw attention to the ongoing security crisis, the protesters have resorted to blocking the major road, effectively paralysing transportation in the area.
The students say five students (3 males and 2 females) were abducted yesterday, and the school dean said “Sorry for what happened” but when they (the abductors) came, at least 15 ‘hefty boys’ should have been there to attack the bandits.
