Tight Security at National Assembly as Lawmakers Arrive for Inauguration [PHOTOS/VIDEO]

In anticipation of the 10th National Assembly inauguration that will commence this morning, tight security measures have been implemented at the National Assembly.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the complex is buzzing with activity as preparations are underway for the momentous event.

While no lawmakers-elect were able to spend the night within the premises, a considerable number of them have already congregated in the Senate chambers.

Reports indicate that lawmakers who support the leadership template of the APC (All Progressives Congress) arrived at the National Assembly complex promptly at 6:30 am on Tuesday.

Witnesses observed their arrival in four coaster buses, which entered through the Villa Gate. Additionally, two other buses were accompanied by security guards as they made their way through the SGF Gate.

About the key leadership positions, there are strong indications that Senator Godswill Akpabio is poised to assume the role of Senate President, while Senator Barau Jibrin is likely to be appointed as the Deputy Senate President. Furthermore, it is expected that Tajudeen Abbas will be elected as the House Speaker, with Benjamin Kalu assuming the position of Deputy Speaker.
