President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mohammed Shehu as the corps marshal/chief executive officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
Until his appointment, Shehu was an assistant corps marshal at the FRSC.
Shehu’s appointment was contained in a statement by the director of information in the office of the secretary to the government of the federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen, on Wednesday, May 22.
Shehu replaces Dauda Ali Biu, who had been acting as the corps Marshal of the FRSC since the retirement of the last substantive corps marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, in 2023.
According to the statement, Shehu’s appointment is for an initial period of four years with effect from May 20, 2024, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Act establishing the Corps.
“President Tinubu tasks the appointee to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new assignment,” the statement added.
