Isaac Fayose, brother to Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, has said that Peter Obi, presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party, is the most popular candidate, while Bola Tinubu, presidential standard-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has the structure to win the forthcoming poll.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to Fayose, Obi needs N50 billion to “buy his own army to defeat Tinubu”.
“Out of all the candidates, Obi is the most popular. If we vote today on social media, he will win. But election is structure-based. So, Obi will need N50 billion to be able to make that government a reality. Fifty billion, yes, Obi will win,” Fayose said in a video sighted by this newspaper on Tuesday.
“Remember, Tinubu is a little bit popular too. He has what they call structure. The structure alone is worth fifty billion. He has what they call goodwill. They call him ‘The City Boy’. So ‘where him money no fit reach, him structure go reach, where him structure no fit reach, him popularity go reach’.
“Obi with fifty billion, will manage to buy his own army to defeat Tinubu.”
It’s no gain saying, Tinubu’s winning the 2023 presidential election.
I concur with Isaac,in Nigeria elections are not won on social media, most of the voters are completely strangers to social media,it requires structure humongous amount of money to win elections in Nigeria
