JUST IN: Transmission Company of Nigeria refutes reports of impending national blackout

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has refuted recent claims suggesting an imminent national blackout.

In response to a publication by the Daily Post alleging statements made by the Head of Public Affairs of TCN regarding a potential nationwide blackout, TCN labelled the claims as false and misleading.

According to the TCN’s official statement released today, the publication’s assertion about the Head of Public Affairs’ suggestion of a national blackout is baseless and mischievous.

The company clarified that the Public Affairs Head made no such statement.

Emphasizing the reliability of the nation’s power grid, TCN assured that the grid remains intact and is actively supplying bulk electricity to distribution load centres nationwide.

”We hereby note that the nation’s grid is intact and supplying bulk electricity to distribution load centres nationwide.

”As at when issuing this statement, the TCN National Control Centre Osogbo, which controls bulk power transmission nationwide, is actively operational.

”We would appreciate that reports are made with a sense of responsibility, not just to cause panic,” the statement read.
