Kidnappers nab two catholic priests in Delta

Two Catholic priests were on Saturday, April 29, 2022, abducted at Agbarha-Otor community in Ughelli North Council Area of Delta State.

Politics Nigeria understands that Agbarha-Otor community is the home town of the late business mogul, Olorogun Michael Ibru.

A statement by Very Rev. Father Okereke Kizito of Schoenstatt Fathers of the Archdiocese of Ibadan, said one of the Fathers, Chochos Kunav, who lives and works in Ibadan was visiting his friend, the parish priest of St. Francis, Agbarha-Otor, Fr. Raphael Ogigba.

Unfortunately for him, while returning from a visit to another parish priest in the area, the duo was kidnapped “in front of the Ibru University, Agbarha-Otor”.

The statement further called for intense prayers by parishioners for the quick and safe release of the abducted priests.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, as of Monday, May 1, confirmed the incident and disclosed that the police were on the trail of the suspects.
