Two people have reportedly been killed in a tanker explosion in Magboro area, around the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the explosion caused panic among residents and led to traffic congestion on the expressway on Thursday.
Three cars close to the fuel-laden tanker reportedly caught fire.
Members of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Federal Fire Service and other agencies have been alerted to avert further danger from the explosion.
It is not the first time such incident is happening in the area. In December 2020, a gas pipeline ruptured while Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, an engineering company, was carrying out a construction project around the same area, close to Punch Newspapers office.
While many people blamed Julius Berger, the company faulted a lack of warning sign.
