Unknown gunmen on Wednesday abducted the mother of Isyaku Ali-Danja, a member representing Gezawa Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, northwest Nigeria, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.
It was learnt that the gunmen stormed the residence of the lawmaker’s mother in Gezawa town around 1am, broke the door and kidnapped her.
Narrating the incident, Ali-Danja, who was once a speaker in the Kano House of Assembly, said according to Daily Nigerian that the gunmen initially asked his mother to open the door but she refused. Following her refusal, they forcefully broke the door to her room and took her away.
He added that immediately after the attackers left the house, one of the aged woman’s caregivers raised the alarm, and police were immediately alerted.
It is understood that as of the time of publishing this report, the abductors are yet to contact any member of the Ali-Danja family.
