JUST IN: Unknown Gunmen attack traders in Enugu over IPOB’s sit-at-home [VIDEO]

The headquarters of Udenu Local Government Area, Enugu State, Obollo-Afor, on Monday witnessed chaos, as some masked gunmen enforcing the suspended sit-at-home order of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) invaded the community.

POLITICS NIGERIA learnt that the lawbreakers attacked residents and traders in the early hours of today.

According to eyewitnesses, the armed men who rode into the commercial town on several motorcycles were seen assaulting traders who had opened their shops for business. Other residents were scampered to safety as the gunmen chased them with whips.
A tricycle was also burnt by the miscreants.

It was gathered that members of Udenu Central Neighbourhood Watch fled on sighting the gunmen as a Toyota Sienna car belonging to the group was destroyed.

A military team subsequently arrived at the town and they are currently patrolling the area to ensure that normalcy is restored.
