Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja, the capital of the country, from Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, after attending the opening ceremony of the International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources 2024 conference.
The conference, which was held at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre, is an international event organised by the Government of Côte d’Ivoire. It focuses on policies and strategies for the sustainable development of the extractive and energy industries.
Shettima’s trip to Côte d’Ivoire was at the invitation of the country’s Vice President, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné.
The trip coincided with the announcement of President Bola Tinubu’s travel to France.
The Presidency had announced on Tuesday that President Tinubu would depart Abuja on Wednesday to begin a state visit to France, in honour of an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron.
Meanwhile, the president is yet to return to the country from the trip.
