A number of top government officials have arrived at the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPT) in Abuja, ahead of the delivery of the judgment on the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the officials included Vice President Kashim Shettima, National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, and President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, among others.
The petitioners (PDP, LP, APM) are seeking the nullification of Tinubu’s victory. Tinubu’s lawyers have argued that the petitions are frivolous and should be dismissed.
In addition to the top government officials, a number of other political leaders and supporters of Tinubu are also expected to be present at the PEPT.
