Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently leading a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The major topic under discussion is the proposal for establishing state police across Nigeria.
The NEC, a body that includes the 36 state governors, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and the Minister of Finance, meets regularly to discuss and decide on issues affecting the nation’s economy and security.
During today’s meeting, the creation of state police is expected to take centre stage.
