IPOB had previously claimed that Kanu’s home was raided by a combined team of security operatives on Saturday night, September 14 The Abia state command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has denied invading the Isiama Afra-Ukwu Ibeku home of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group, Nnamdi Kanu.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, on Sunday, September 15, said security agents never besieged Kanu’s home, Daily Trust reports.
Ogbonna insisted that doing so would have amounted to a waste of time and energy. He said: “Why would security agents besiege Kanu’s home? Kanu, I’m sure, is not around and in his Afara-Ukwu home, I’m sure for now, is safe.
