The parents of the murderer of 5-year-old, Hanifa Abubakar; Abdulmalik Tanko, have fled their residence over fears of being attacked.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Tanko’s family house is located at Tudunwada and Tudun Murtala areas of Kano State. The whereabouts of his parents remains unknown.

It is understood that as a result of Tanko’s heinous act, there was an attempt to attack the parents. This development made the culprit’s parent flee their house.

Tanko, the proprietor of Noble Kids School in Kano who was arrested over the murder of Hanifa said he killed her with rat poison.

According to him, the school has two branches and the first — where Hanifa was buried — was opened in 2017.

Giving details of the incident, Tanko said he contacted his friend, identified as Hashimu Isyaku, and one Fatima Musa, to kidnap the girl at first but they failed to carry out the abduction.

He said of the N6 million demanded as ransom, he had collected N100,000 before Hanifa was killed, adding that “I used N71,000 to pay the staff members of the other branch”.
