Kaduna-Abuja rail attack: ‘Install sensors’ — Shehu Sani to NRC

The former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has advised the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to “install the sensors to detect any explosive planted along the rail-tracks”.

Sani said this via his verified Twitter handle on Friday morning.

Recall POLITICS NIGERIA had reported on Thursday how Sani alongside other train passengers were left in shock after terrorists had planted explosives on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line. The explosives went off. Sani had stated that it “took a miracle” for him and other passengers on the train to escape unhurt.

He also claimed that terrorists shot at the train on Wednesday in a separate attack.

Fidet Okhiria, managing director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), confirmed that parts of the train track were destroyed in the attack.

The managing director said an investigation is underway to unravel what really happened on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

Now, Sani, who often uses train means of transportation is offering the NRC a counsel.

“The suspension of the railway services by the NRC is the safest thing to do for now.The next is to instal the sensors to detect any explosive planted along the rail-tracks.Flying to Kaduna is the next option while hoping that the road from the airport to the city will be secured,” Sani wrote.
