Kaduna-Abuja road attack: Shehu Sani sends message to National Assembly

Former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani, on Tuesday urged security agencies and the National Assembly (NASS) to ‘ensure the safety of both the public and private schools within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)’.

Sani, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said this in a tweet via his verified handle.

He allege cross-border incursions into the FCT, and warned that learning institutions and its students are at risk.

“As the wave of Banditry and kidnappings edges into Abuja, the Ministry of the FCT, Security agencies and the NASS must ensure the safety of both the public and private schools within the territory. The safety of the people & the diplomatic community must be taken seriously,” he wrote.

POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that armed bandits on Sunday attacked travellers along the Kaduna-Abuja highway. The incident happened at Kurmin Kare, Kachia Local Government Area (LGA), where Alhaji Muhammad Sagir Hamidu, a 2023 governorship aspirant in Zamfara State was killed. The bandits also abducted an unspecified number of persons.
