Kaduna Abuja train derails, leaves scores of passengers stranded [PICS]

Barely one week after the Warri-Itakpe train derailed in Kogi forest and left around 300 passengers stranded, the Kaduna-Abuja train has also fended off its track.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned from sources that the incident happened on Friday afternoon close to Kubwa train station in Abuja.

This newspaper gathered that there are no casualties. Officials of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) and security personnel are currently at the scene.

Following this incident, the NRC suspended the Abuja-Kaduna rail services.

The NRC said it suspended services on the route, due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Abuja-Kaduna train services has been suspended,” the corporation said in an update on its mobile application.
