The Kaduna state government on Tuesday began the refund of N61,080 to 6,239 Pilgrims who performed Hajj through in 2023.
The refund, Politics Nigeria gathered is being made by the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency.
The refund was made to the agency by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Yunusa Mohammed, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency said the funds would be disbursed directly into the accounts of the affected Pilgrims.
The refund is being made to the pilgrims due to an interruption in the electricity supply during their stay at Muna.
This had affected the cooling system at the location causing the pilgrims some level of inconvenience.
Mohammed urged those who are yet to submit their account details to do so by visiting their respective Local Government registration officers for documentation and verification.
He said, “We will do everything possible to ensure only verified pilgrims with bank account details receive the refunds.”
