The Kano State House of Assembly has suspended the Chairman of Gwale Local Government Council, Khalid Ishaq Diso, for a period of three months.

The suspension came after a report that Diso had sold some lands belonging to the state government.

It was a decision reached by the state House Assembly after it adopted the report of its Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs at a plenary session on Tuesday, September 12.

According to Punch, the Assembly said six members out of the council councillors, 10 members petitioned the House over the conduct of the embattled chairman.

Speaker, Jubril Ismail Falgore during the plenary on Tuesday stated that Diso was also accused of making unilateral decisions without informing the councilors

The House, therefore, instituted an ad hoc committee to investigate the allegations and report back in two months and directed the vice-chairman to take over the helm of affairs for three months, pending the completion of the investigation.
