A viral video on social media has shown the moment Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda intercepted a group of policemen who were transporting stolen palliatives.
According to sources close to the situation, the incident unfolded when Governor Radda’s convoy ran into the police officers.
As he passed through a busy intersection, he noticed a patrol van that raised suspicions.
Upon closer examination, the governor discovered that the van was loaded with food items and supplies meant to be part of government-provided palliatives to help ease the effects of the recent fuel subsidy removal on the citizens of Katsina.
However, the palliatives had allegedly been pilfered.
Governor Radda, a vocal advocate for transparency and accountability in governance, wasted no time in taking action.
He immediately ordered the patrol van to be pulled over and confronted the police officers on duty.
In the video, the governor was visibly furious about the situation.
The policemen have since been detained pending a thorough investigation into their alleged involvement in the theft of palliatives meant for the people of Katsina.
Governor Radda vowed to ensure that justice was served and that anyone found guilty would face the full extent of the law.
