Kebbi APC suspends former House of Reps member, nine others over anti-party activities

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi state has suspended Muhammad Shehu Koko, a former member of the House of Representatives, alongside nine party officials in Koko local government area.

Koko represented Koko/Besse and Maiyama federal constituency in the green chamber.

Those suspended include Muhammad Danyado, APC vice-chairman of Koko LGA; Biyaminu Muhammad, secretary; and Talatu Zauro, women leader.

Others affected are the youth leader, financial secretary, welfare secretary and other party officials in the area.

In a suspension letter, the party said the action was taken over alleged anti-party activities, disloyalty and harassment of party executives.

The letter was jointly signed by Muhammad Maibarga, APC chairman in Koko LGA; Sirajo Usman Koko, executive chairman of the LGA; and 14 other party stakeholders.

Associates of the former lawmaker said they were not authorised to speak on his behalf.

They, however, suggested the suspension may be connected to Koko’s reported interest in contesting for a senatorial seat, which has allegedly unsettled some influential APC leaders in the state.
